brokenhead:A lot of people feed families. There are tons of single working mothers out there that manage. That doesn't qualify them to be president or VP. And a lot of them would know better than to let ambition get in the way of raising their families.
Tomas: So you'd have all women closted in burkhas? The single moms are received $$$ from Uncle Sam? Where's the real father?
They'd be living in Blair House, replete with staff.. Al Gore's kids made do, what's the difference with it being a woman vice president this time. Male chauvanism?
Like going around saying a drunk driver killed his wife and child? He gets away with that because the driver has passed away, but his daughter said he was cleared of that by the state police. He was a tee-totaler.
Tomas wrote:Idaho and Alaska are mountains and hills with lotsa animals and grocery stores far and few between. Moose meat is tasty when properly prepared, nothing like most other wild game. I dunno Diebert what foods you eat but I grew up on a farm/ranch with the modern grocery store 50 miles away. Guns are a necessary way of life when one is raised in the country. Salmon, perch, deer, grouse, pheasant.. Perhaps is beyond your grasp?

Viciously attacked? You are becoming such a pussy. Shall I handle you with kid gloves from now on?PS - Shah mentioned (truth be told - viciously attacked me) that I had the "hots" for Palin -
You admit it is true? After all the whining?basically true because I like women with long hair, a sign of independence and a structured lifestyle. A can-do attitude..
I have no idea what this has to do with what I asked.-Shah-

Hey, if one can do the work of the partner, (should the other one die), Sarah/Todd, the other could put the pieces together. To me, that's what family life comprises.
Really? Why don't you tell me what good use Sarah has obtained from her hair? Does she sweep the floor with it when she can't find a mop?Guessed you've not roughed it .. in a pinch, long hair can be cut and put to good use. Human hair is not just for looks, you know.
No.Perhaps you've not heard of Paul Bunyan, Samson, "Grizzly Adams",
Even if I believed that crap, you don't need long hair to cover your head. Short hair will do that very well.much less the scriptural admonition of -why- women should "cover" their heads.
Sorry, I don't usually do what everybody else does. This is true yet today with the Arab, Jewish women.. Native american Indian.

Well if you took your fingers out of your ears, maybe you could hear something.

I read it, but doesn't she qualify by Constitutional prerequisites?
Alex Jacob wrote:There are many people who have voted sporadically, or not at all. This election though has far more meaning for many more people. I met people at the Democratic headquarters recently who explained they were never political until now, and now it meant something to them, and they simply had to act in some way, and they were engaged with gusto. Their concern, therefor, completely trumps your flip of a coin attitude, Tomas.
Obama as president will be able to do very little, and who is really certain what should be done? The only hope here is that millions of people have made an effort to get into the political process, and maybe they will get politicized, and maybe they will be able to influence some policies. I think we can have a little hope, maybe not too much, but only if more thoughtful people have a stake in the matter, and work to express their opinions, to change the atmosphere maybe a little bit.
The forces that will oppose this expression of populism will be vast, though.
It is the contrasts that give meaning to life, the chiaroscuro, and the drama.

What are you talking about?
-tomas-
Jesus, your a stones throw from Biden and your eyes are rose colored?
-brokie-
Don't you get it, Tomas? She's not urbane. At the very, very least, a president or vice president should be urbane.
-tomas-
Oh, Ivy educated like you?
urbane adjective: characterized by tact and propriety
adjective: marked by wide-ranging knowledge and appreciation of many parts of the world arising from urban life and wide travel
adjective: showing a high degree of refinement and the assurance that comes from wide social experience

I do not have a thing against women in politics. I do have a thing about this woman. She's massively unqualified for the job she wants us to give her. Her judgement is faulty. Blatantly so.
-tomas-
More inane talk.

The difference is Al Gore is more educated and and makes an effort to... golly, take an interest in current events?
-tomas-
No wonder, he never worked a day in his life. His dad paid his way through university. Though he flunked his law exam the first time around, ditto for his theology exam (guess "god" had higher hopes for him) His son Gore-III busted for 4 different drugs in his possession. Yup, all-American family!
