Idaho and Alaska are mountains and hills with lotsa animals and grocery stores far and few between. Moose meat is tasty when properly prepared, nothing like most other wild game. I dunno Diebert what foods you eat but I grew up on a farm/ranch with the modern grocery store 50 miles away. Guns are a necessary way of life when one is raised in the country. Actually I can't believe Palin reversed [what appears to be] her initial drive to secede, and goes federal as if Washington somehow could be changed, made into something less federal, hah. That's not gonna happen. I think some Neoconnish intellectuals got a hook in her faith and vanity and converted her as they converted Mccain and Bush with delusions of grandeur of some kind, like history's actors. Yeah, but it is kinky Kelly Jones hair, and his wife and kids too. I was of course making (bad) jokes just to bother Tomas (who may in the end be fucking with all of us). I have a friend who, surpisingly to me, is adamantly opposed to Obama, and I suspect, though he won't say it, it is because of race more than anything else. When I told him I knew where to get a hair kinking device and I'd pick him up one if he wanted, he did not look at me very appreciatingly, and I haven't heard from his since.

Obama as president will be able to do very little, and who is really certain what should be done? The only hope here is that millions of people have made an effort to get into the political process, and maybe they will get politicized, and maybe they will be able to influence some policies. I think we can have a little hope, maybe not too much, but only if more thoughtful people have a stake in the matter, and work to express their opinions, to change the atmosphere maybe a little bit.

The forces that will oppose this expression of populism will be vast, though.

Beginning in 1972 .. the past nine presidential election cycles, I've not pulled the switch for president or vice president (no write-in zilch-o). This time around, probably not.

PS - I'm still in North Dakota, helping out various farmers bringing in the corn crops, we had a hard freeze a couple nights ago. Shouldda been back in Cali at my business, but the girlfriend is running it in my absense.

Suppose I could hang around and go to the polls in Dakota, on the 4th of November to vote for the presidential electors. But then, I wouldn't be able to vote for my state assembly (slave-masters). Too late for the California absentee ballot... California is going Biden/Obama so my protest vote for Ralph Nader would go up in smoke along with beating around the bush for a couple hits off Cheech & Chong's spliffy.
