Portal to Maya Underworld Found in Mexico?

A labyrinth filled with stone temples and pyramids in 14 caves - some underwater - have been uncovered on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula

-snip-
According to Maya myth, the souls of the dead had to follow a dog with night vision on a horrific and watery path and endure myriad challenges before they could rest in the afterlife.

In one of the recently found caves, researchers discovered a nearly 300-foot (90-meter) concrete road that ends at a column standing in front of a body of water. (see photo)

Twice as many boys as girls are reported to be a problem. Nevertheless, of all the "problem" children, only 10% were actually deemed to need professional help. Although it does not say in this article, I recall from other sources that most of those deemed to need medication are boys - but the question then becomes "how much of this is an actual need, and how much is it a reflection of personal bias within the mental (un)health community?"

People do need to understand the differences between the genders. Although in the past not understanding the differences between the genders led to oppression of women just because women do not act like men, now not understanding the differences between the genders is leading to chemical and psychological abuse of little boys just because they do not act like little girls.

I heard recently that some researchers are now considering that "aspergers syndrome" is in fact a normal part of the male spectrum.

Just follow the money. The facts are that kids are medicated now more than ever. Big Pharma has lots of resources devoted to making sure there is a market for what it manufactures. Payola to the prescribing physician is one of the least egregious activities. Withholding ad revenue from any media source that questions the wisdom of treating all the ADD, AD-HD "sufferers" out there with expensive and potentially dangerous mood-altering meds is just as commonplace. They make it seem like a win-win situation: teachers have fewer students acting out and Johnny gets better grades in conduct. The taxpayers foot the bill, but hey, the trough is bottomless. Johnny might not remember things too well down the line because the long-term effects of state-dependent learning aren't as pressing an issue as keeping him in his seat is today.

A feminist's argument for McCain's VP

A feminist's argument for McCain's VP

On the day McCain announced her selection as his running mate, Palin thanked Clinton and Ferraro for blazing her trail. A day later, Ferraro noted her shock at Palin's comment. You see, none of her peers, no one, had ever publicly thanked her in the 24 years since her historic run for the White House. Ferraro has since refused to divulge for whom she's voting. Many more now are realizing that it does indeed take a woman - who happens to be a Republican named Sarah Palin.

No, Aspergers isn't a part of normal male behaviour, because there is a distinct difference between the physical clumsiness of an Aspergers, who just doesn't get the root mechanical concept (they struggle with the principle and the spirit of a thing), and the physical clumsiness of a male, who because he gets the root mechanical concept doesn't bother with the frills that make the conventional presentation look smooth and elegant.

It's why men are characteristically 'ugly' and plain. If it's not worth doing, it's not worth doing.

One of the best ;-)

On this Thursday, going to Sioux Nation (Standing Rock Indian Reservation) on North/South Dakota border. Probly some peyote passed 'round. Suppose be two day affair in sweat lodge.

Grain harvesting about done, so we'll be heading back to Cali in about a week or so. Wouldda already been back in Cali but the rains delayed the harvests.

So, we visited the Badlands during the rains, though it didn't rain at Badlands, different topography. We trekked to the deepest part of our favorite canyon before sunset, the sunset colors are unlike any other place on Earth. Ditto for the sunrise colors. Got mighty cool, down in the mid-30s. Daytime highs about 50.

Couple few (seven?) of the grandkids & our daughter went dinosaur hunting on our Native Brothers land, near Mandaree. Horseback riding to and fro.

Weather's back in the 70s now, though.

I've gained five pounds from all the down-home cooking of the Natives and relatives. Farm cream and milk, not that store-bought crap. Real homemade cheese. Walk into the vegetable gardens and pick strawberries, peas, green beans, lettuce, cabbbage, sweet onions. Pemmican. Buffalo steak. Raspberry bushes. Maize. Okra. Flowers everywhere.

Better stop before I get depressed (just thinking) about the prospects of returning to Cali in a week or so :-(

This story reminded me of the statement I read on here about a woman's one moment of consciousness being when she gets married.

Two comments:

1. I'm assuming when the article says, 'Life partner' it's assumed she is marrying another woman?

2. Natalie Cole, (daughter of Nat 'King' Cole) also has hepatitis-3. She's also been carrying it for some 20 plus years. She guesses it's from her herion "junkie" days :-(

Odd, I rarely watch TV, but some days in North Dakota, there ain't a whole lot to do but sit on the back porch and ... swing. She Natalie, came on the tube and was commentig aout her disease.

Thanks, Elizabeth..

On this one we will need womanly feedback.
Ok, on the radio, Howard Stearn program, you know he ask girls always private questions, sometimes he let them dodge sometime he not allow. here then the hot girl had a celebrity boyfriend last year they split up, so they all talking various subject several people talking also about boyfriends monster dick, its well known to all seen many times in locker room no question he had a big one, so Stearn he asks questions abou this dick, even some good questions!, and she had many interesting answer, then he ask her
"Is impossible for you to go back to smaller dick now after you experience big one" and she the girl talk about something else completely, so Stearn wait a bit let discussion roll on people laughing talking then something like he said "no seriously, can you be happy with a smaller or average dick after enjoying that whopper" and everyone shut up to listen and you know what (i guessed right in my head) she again dodge completely the answer, not even talk about dicks at all! just talk about something else in relationships, as if she never heard question at all.

Ok then what is going on here? I will say a few thoughts and then next I hope any genius woman who read this should try to explain what may be going on in this womans mind.
Clearly she not wish to reveal her position of dicks to the whole world. Though she ok to say she enjoy the man and his monster dick and even talk about his dick all ok, but when asked if she now is spoiled NO, that she not will say.
Why she not say "No Howard, dont talk crazy, that makes no sense"
She could have said "thats a very private thing i pefer to keep private"
Or better yet "i find pleasure in variety!"
All kind of possible responses that would end issue. But NO, she would not reveal a thing.
Anyway i invite you the physical women here to share there thoughts before I say anymore.
I mean the girls who do, or used to go with men.

(by the way i was busy distracted when listening so may have some wrong deails doesnt matter not imporant.)

She wanted to lie but froze up because she knew she was on the radio. She is so used to lying that she could not even think of telling the truth, that it didn't matter and that she might as well. She was trying out different lies in her head and couldn't decide which one sounded right because she was confused about who she was lying to, since she knew so many people would be listening. It's easier to lie to one person than millions. So she blanked on the question and changed the subject.

If you've listened to Howard at all, you'll notice that when he interviews strippers or porn "stars," they all sound exactly the same and answer his questions almost identically. With a gun to your head, you couldn't tell them apart except by accident. It's the same vacuous voice with the same irritating giggling. Once in a while you get one who knows who the president is, but they can almost always distinguish between high-end Porsches. When he has contests between strippers and retards, the retards win half the time. When he has contests between porn stars and 10-year olds, the kids always win.

I suppose so, you may be right.
But it feel to me like she perform just as she want to, if he had asked her 3 more times she would keep on answering an unasked question. Hard to relate since not have for you all the right words said, but she not trying to make anyone think she really trying to answer. She wanted all to know by her stupid answer that she deliberately is not answering. Its a sly way of saying "sorry but i wont answer that question". Not only she not want to reveal her opinion, but also she want all listening to know she not willing to reveal her opinion. But to do in a way that reflect best on her.

This WHY she not give a close-to-believable answer.

Now still question can be left- WHY so impoertant to her to not reveal truth here?
And to me even more significant is WHY she want everyone to know and beleive she unwilling to reveal.
Its like there is honor in keeping a secret, one possibility.
Also she must feel she has potentially much to gain/lose with this question.
Women are cautious about hurting feelings, this too possible. If she hurt your feeling will you chase her with your little dick later when she is horney?

One more possibility is Howard asked a question that-"your dammed if you dont and your dammed if you do"! Any answer may harm herself.

We should examine all ways she could be damaged. I think it will be enlightening.
Of course the girls watching could contribute much to this examination, but dont count on it, do you understand WHY?

what are we talking about? I almost forgot- its about her desires, likes dislikes.

what if she said "yes, if its not enormous dont point it my way"?

The American Social Security System at "work."

It's bad enough that only the ultra wealthy can afford good health care - and at that they would lose their wealth if they needed said care (see Ed McMahon, but even being on Social Security disability payments does not mean that you have even minimal financial security. David and Dan, what would you do if your payments were cut down to less than half because someone with your name was put in jail, and even after proving that it was not you in jail, you still had to wait until the other person was released before you could pay your bills?

sounds more like a social anxiety system to me - hardly anyone has a job, but those who do are forced to follow insane protocols thorough an impossible workload, and health care with an axe over you (even if you have insurance, you have to fill out a mountain of paperwork correctly despite whatever limitations your illness/injury put on you, and follow insane protocols that even a healthy person would get confused about much less someone who is sick and/or injured. Oh, and if you have children, there is always the threat that they will be taken away to be abused by the foster system if you can not turn the insanity of society into something that looks like "Leave it to Beaver" at home for your children.

Well, this is a large part of my objection to various socialist schemes - they always involve giving the government control over some important aspect of your life. Power given to government is extremely difficult to get back.

Governments have a long history of screwing things up, either deliberately or through incompetence.

What about the fact that some of these schemes are opt-in? You don't have to go on the dole or use medicare when in need.

Brilliant! instead of trying to go on the dole when you are disabled, you can just get arrested for being homeless instead! And sure you don't have to go on Medicaid, but if you have children and don't take them to a doctor when needed, unless you happen to be lucky enough to have a volunteer organization in your area, they will be taken away for medical neglect. Adults can show up at a hospital and expect to be taken care of even without any kind of coverage if you show up by ambulance and the EMS has determined that this is a life-threatening situation, but you will be sued if you can't cover the enormous bill. Oh, and if you think that you and your family can handle the situation without a doctor, you could go to jail.

Yeah, you can opt out - but there are consequences.
