Dennis....last night after I got off line.. I was laying in bed, daydreaming....all of a sudden I thought of Lucille Ball [I love Lucy],
and her assembly-line skit. I couldn't think of anything to say to you [other than, piss off] as you were getting on my nerves with
your strange projections, felt like you were talking at me, instead of to me.....so anyways....

The candy on the assembly line represents all your ideas and questions....and I was try to answer them[wrap them up],
but it became uncontrollable, and chaotic, and I didn't know what to say...I was getting very frustrated...and started "eatting my words"
I would type out something, and reply, then delete it because I was angry, [and felt bad to be so mean to you....]
I thought to myself...maybe he is parapallegic or something....has some kind of disorder....and that you were really trying to communicate
as best you could...

lol....then Dan comes here [THE BOSS], and says [he'll fire us if we're not up to snuff], lol [Thats the mystical part] lol [as i had no idea his character would appear in the video/thread analogy]....lol

So ...watch the video again...You are ETHEL, I am LUCY, Dan is the BOSS[lady] lol ....
we are communicating with each other [the candy on the assembly line, and with each idea we communicate we wrap it up], see the symbolism ? lol

So, anyways....please try to contribute something meaningful[on topic] to this thread or quit spamming it ...ok ? [ PM me for the other stuff]

Thanks

He wants the thread to be meaningful or he'll close it.

Clearly, the thread has meaning for him so he can't logically close it.

In the power differential of up/down pecking order.

even the ups require potty-training from time to time.

Perhaps he assumes 'quality of meaning' but he didn't say that.

The absurdity is,
existence has no intrinsic meaning,

meaning is arbitrary.

it's empty and meaningless.

ranking and pulling rank is conventional,
ultimately meaningless.

why be enslaved?

if nothing has real meaning for you, why do you bother communicating ?
Life is like a blank canvas...you're the artist, make your own meaning....otherwise your meaning WILL be meaningless....
Even though you say it is meaningless Ultimately, at the same time it is FULL of meaning !

Meaningless= Meaningfull

The word meaningless means something. So saying reality is ultimately meaningless is false. :)

What if God was Love ?
Would it still be meaningless ?

No.

You just said it's empty and meaningless that it's empty and meaningless,
so that means empty and meaningless means nothing, and that would mean SOMETHING !

I meant why be enslaved to convention when it is ultimately meaningless.

We have a notion of Absolute.
We are up shit creek without a paddle on that one.
No thing.
Tao can't be named.

Conventional reality (consensual agreements)
always moving,
ultimately meaningless.

What did Buddha do in the conventional world ?
He inspired murderers to be saints.

We gotta make the best of what we have .
Right now , we can choose to help make this hell hole a better place by the simplest of things.
Or we can make this a hell realm for ourselves and others.

Our actions [Karma], in this conventional world, is our ticket
outta here.
You screw up, you come back until you get it right.

geddit ?

p.s.

Right Action makes it possible to "Geddit".
It's all about Karma.
Bad Karma...[no getting it]

That's why we have rapists and murderers running around.

Buddhism is not about making the world a better place. That's what a silly religion that goes by that name is about. In being that, it makes enlightenment less and less possible. Therefore, it ultimately makes the world a worse place. There's no such thing as harmless delusion.

You just contradicted yourself.

By studying Buddhism you get a handle on Enlightenment...making it possible.
Wouldn't this world be a better place if we were all Enlightened ?

Buddhism is about Enlightenment.
Sure, some people make it into a religion,
but then there are those that see it as a philosophy.
And then you have those that mix the two together.
But when you realize the essence of Buddhas teachings,
you are less religious, and dogmatic, and become more
practical about it.

Sometimes doing "religious" things [such as lighting incense, and having Buddha statue, etc] helps to focus or inspire you to practice or meditate.

Also, a big part of being a Buddhist is having compassion,
and I think by having compassion, and the practice of not harming [ahimsa],
helps make this world a better place for others suffering.

Only a Buddha can know exactly what to do, in all situations.
His behavior is perfect.

In Absolute Reality everything is already perfect.
We are it..because that's all there really is....

BTW:

This is a pretty accurate description of Buddhism :

Imagine Buddhism without rebirth and without a karmic system that guarantees justice ultimately will be served, without nirvana, without bodhisattvas flying on lotus leaves, without Buddha worlds, without nonphysical states of mind, without any deities, without heaven and hell realms, without oracles, and without lamas who are reincarnations of lamas.

What's left?

emptiness, impermanence, selflessness.

The guts.
Do the guts.
The rest takes care of itself.

What are "the guts" to you ?

I've enjoyed [studying] emensely everything. All of it had a part to play in insiring me. The guts come towards the end of all this study. But all of it lead up to that point. To not have adversions or attachments is another key , to what Buddhism is about. The middle way is more practical. To be attracted to the Dharma / Buddhas teachings is a blessing in itself.

You are free to generate any amount of Stories or opinions you care to hold sacrosanct as possibilities to live in to.
Do your own thing.
The fact is your subjective and objective is empty.
You are empty.
The task is not to become embroiled in Life as a confusion about it.
It is to see through it.

I'm more inclined to go with Buddha's reasoning :

Everything is real, not real; both real and not real; neither not real nor real: this is the teaching of the Buddha. [Nagarjuna]

To say everything is empty is nilhistic.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nihilism

http://www.budsas.org/ebud/whatbudbeliev/111.htm

To be attached to emptiness is wrong also.

you lack inherent existence.
