Then I just gotta say:

While snuggled in the depths of doona, motionless, the realization of thirst grows. After awhile thirst grows strong (conflict). Eventually, movement. Life as the compounded body moves. The body moves to find water. Enough of being thirsty. The body naturally seeks balance, the state of being no reflection of movement, when no component dominates.

Attention freed from maintaining attachments naturally points awareness towards balance, and the continuing balancing process of the universe. Undistracted attention pointing awareness towards awareness, continuous mindfulness, revealing the stillness present in all movement.

Does not a cockroach also realize thirst? Is not a cockroach already freed from maintaining attachments? So, you have established that you and a cockroach share the same common awareness, that of having a body and of seeking to meet its survival needs. By way of your scenario above, I can only conclude one thing: cockroach = mindful being.

Different scenario:

While snuggled in the depths of doona, the realization of thirst grows. After awhile thirst grows strong (conflict). Instead of being as a cockroach and immediately seeking to end the conflict of thirst, a question arises: why does realization conflict itself with thirst?

The movement required to balance the force of thirst need not be immediate, and neither is thirst a force upon non-attachment, la cucaracha.
