Well, at least, you admit it.

Kind of funny how people talk about the merits of writers they have never read.

So, read something already.

Thompson was not a philosopher by any means. But he was truthful as hell. He was an individual thinker in the way of Emerson or Thoreau -- very much an American in the old sense, not the pussy modern sense.
