Here's an example, something I wrote when I was 16 :

the rocks that rumble...silently are mine...
earth sounds i hear..beat rolls across my room...
i scratch the beat that's dead created time....
and weave into this solid mass: time loom....
rock is the photograph of times ruin...
continuation clings like a disease...
yet the living sleep inside a tomb...
entertaining themselves with memories..
winding antique clocks under christmas trees...
ignorant of timeless and flawless days....
writng diaries...painting the seas...
chisling emotions from time-stained clays....
and i pity us...if we too follow....
these blind hypocrites...
in time they wallow...

Another one written in [1967-8] ?

the dry snow slides between the yellow sky...
each flake streaming down a copper straw...
the wind sifts...and becomes misty air...
blowing against the copper straws....
clanging...clanging...millions and zillions...
the copper straws hanging from nowhere...everywhere...
the stars pollenate the earth....
liquid flowers flow between grass threads....
instantly the threads curl...
while the flowing slurps down a drain....
nothing left...
but a smooth glass earth...
and a blue smoke swirling inside it.........

the boys from the himalayan caves, who got off the surface and took on the task of contemplation,
report like journalists, in a matter of fact way,
that you and me in our primordial essence,
set the whole thing up.

you don't have to swallow that like you swallow red cordial,
but you can have it there as a possibility to see how everything lines up.

how it's set up is by conceptual designation,
or existence is conceptual designation.

rain falls because it's postulated so.
we agree rain falls,
do we agree it falls because we set that task for it?

I've looked under the bed, up the chimney, down the road, over the hill and I can't find anyone else here 'cept for you and me.

it's cool to have a personal narrative but let's not get carried away.

the art of conceptual designation.

you can't bullshit a bullshitter.
only some of the time.

What are you talking about ?
You enjoy what you like to do.
I enjoy what I like to do.
Can't we just enjoy each other ?

The happinesss you have is the happiness you have given to others.
There's nothing wrong with enjoyment & enjoying yourself,
if you are not harming anyone.

I'd like to join this conversation.
I want to write this way too.
I want to be part of a culture,
that writes top to bottom
instead of left to right.

You guys sure get annoyed at the most insignificant things.
There's no harm in writing
like this.
There's no harm in
whatever you do as long
as you're not
harming.

I bet you'd never wear a pink plaid lacey blouse.....Dan...
You have preferences as to what you like
you have natural inclinations....'as long as
you're not harming, what does it really matter ?

to intensionally annoy can be harmful.
little things like that add up, can drive
someone already on the edge ....crazy....

if your intensiona are to humor,
that's another thing...

it's all about intension.

if you really want to know,
i write like this because
i think it's easier to read, write and comprehend.

Whereas, when you write like this you usually have a lot to say , so you need to use up all the space you can...but i don't usually have much to say ....so i don't need to take up all the space............i don't know why that is[that i don't have much to say]. When writing on these forums I feel pressed for time most of the time, so i say things as compactly as i can. I don't feel like this is how I normally communicate otherwise, in my natural state....speaking face to face. It behooves me that when speaking to people directly [face to face], they speak much differently, than how they write. Most people I know that are very intellectual and write fluently, hardly say a thing when speaking to face to face.

Oh, I'm not annoyed at all, Kunga. Far from it - I'm actually highly amused. It's really rather hilarious watching it all unfold. Well, in a sad kind of way, that is.

Sandy,
Zen groks conversation this way,

Whenever we interact with another person, three dimensions of experience spontaneously emerge. We can call those dimensions “In/Out,” “Up/Down,” and “Near/Far.” “In/Out” reflects the degree to which we accept each other as belonging to the same tribe — are we family, friends, allies, and members-of-the-club, or are we strangers, enemies, and/or rejects? “Up/Down” reflects where we stand in the pecking order: leaders, followers, rebels, or mascots. “Near/Far” reflects our degree of mutual intimacy. How transparent can we be? Can we take off our masks and let down our hair? Do we have an “I-Thou” or “I-It” relationship? All three of these dimensions are unavoidable. They emerge at the moment of “Hello.”

An up/down dimension lies within every interpersonal transaction. If someone knocks on my door and asks if he may come in, he acknowledges my power to permit or deny his entrance. If I say, “Come in, take a seat,” I confirm my authority to control what happens in my space. If he replies, “I’d rather stand,” he’s attempting to re-renegotiate control. If I reply “suit yourself,” I let the challenge pass, but reserve my future rights. And so it goes. At any given moment we’re either one-up, one-down, or sharing status as coequals.

Yes. Understood. I'm Out/Down/Far.

The Misfit.

That's why I'm enlightened....I know who I am.

Good Bye !

Is that a hissy fit.
hope not and don't believe it, thought I'd ask.

So, what opens up in the recognition of the way of conversation is 'the man of no true rank'.
Any ideas on that?

I think enlightenment should be called "heart-centering." When your identification falls away, that's what happens.
