How can I convert from rich text format to HTML or BBCode? I have a document in Microsoft WordPad that I need to convert to HTML or BBCode or something to prevent all the text formatting from being lost when posted on a forum. Is there any way to do this?

The only way I know to do that is to either use Notepad (which may cause you to lose some fomatting anyway) or in a plain text format email (i.e. C&P the text into one of those then into the forum post). You cannot maintain formatting such as italics. You'll have to do anything like that manually once the text is posted - afaik.

A bit of Googling turned up BBComposer, a toolbar for Mozilla Firefox that supports WYSIWYG editing including generation of BBCode tags. It looks like you might be able to copy-n-paste the contents of Wordpad into the BBComposer window. I haven't used it myself, but it might work for you. Hope you use Firefox. :-)

S/he edited in a few spam links after the fact. Cunning. To think that we wasted our time trying to help out a spammer... ugh.
