I think that show is a niche one, and what's more, those who watch it are unlikely to see it as any more than entertainment.

Pat Robertson Blames Haiti Earthquake on "Pact With the Devil" - directs followers to pray that Haitians turn to God. Meanwhile secular organizations show up with actual rescue workers, medicine, food, etc.

Mormons are among the first to respond with humanitarian relief in crisis situations, often responding with greater alacrity than even the Red Cross.

The Pat Robertson clip you provided cuts off the last part of his statement. Selective editing.

In the edited portion, which was cut out, he says:

“But right now we’re helping the suffering people, and the suffering is unimaginable.”

I also noticed that there is a phone number on the clip for a disaster relief fund, which presumably is to offer more to the suffering population than prayers.

Apparently, what’s disagreeable is the premise for his reasoning, but that’s not a justifiable reason for editing his statement.

Here’s the clip without his final statement edited out:

Would not a religious-based interpretation of the world associate a concept of “devil” with corruption?

And how does a secular-based interpretation of the world classify corruption. Human nature?
quote:
“The International Red Cross ranks Haiti as the most corrupt nation on the planet. Foreign aid must work on the ground and should not become a waste of money. It is often said that foreign aid amounts to taking money from poor people in rich countries to give it to corrupt rich people in poor countries. This is a caution that must be borne in mind while distributing aid and coordinating efforts at reconstruction. One should also be able to identity some of the credible and honest NGOs such as Oxfam and the Red Cross. Putting aid through them has better chance of reaching where it’s needed the most.”

Klein asserts that the corruption takes place in the giving of aid money.

In contrast, the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami indicates that corruption takes place in the receiving of aid money.
