Do you think the problem is the police?

The police are just enforcers. So is the military, for that matter. Does that answer your question?

I didn't ask a question, just for a definition of "the disease".

The disease is the entity which calls for the enforcing. The entity is made up of two parts, one active and the other inactive. The active part is the corrupt government, the inactive part is the public in denial.

Now please answer my question: do you (as many of your links seem to indicate) think the police are the problem?

First, answer me this: Which came first - the corrupt government -or- the public in denial?

Considering that the American government originally was the public, it would pretty much have to be hand-in-hand like Carl said. It started falling apart before there was a them vs us to choose from.

Going hand in hand means they grew together over time, the public becoming giving away its power as the controllers took more power. Now people look at the TV news and go "uh-uh" as such things as surveillance, torture, and the fire-bombing of third world villages are defended. My point is really quite simple, Tomas, there's no need for your condescension.

Texas Independence Moving Forward

-snip-

If the federal government uses hard tactics to disperse or control the crowds, it will more
than likely be the catalyst for a state wide rebellion, expecially if there are casualties.

Geronimo, Skull and Bones

He [Ramsey Clark] said the important question is why the federal
government wants to keep Geronimo buried at Fort Sill.

"They're still fighting the Indian wars, and they want to retain the
remains of Geronimo to show that they won," he said.

While it's true that things naturally arise together - Dependent origination and all that - the origination of the American government was not exactly from "the public." Well, it was, kind of, but "the public" at that time meant white, land-owning men, and naturally the laws and structure of government was designed to protect the interests of white, land-owning men. That was the "us."

The interests of blacks, native Americans, the poor and women, for example, were not represented and were protected to the extent that their interests were the same as those of the ones writing the laws. (The rich and poor alike are equally prohibited from sleeping under bridges.)

Extending the idea of "the public" to include everyone is an ongoing process, with, for instance, gays still fighting for rights, and it wasn't all that long ago we had a president who said that athiests were not really citizens.

The origination of the government was through people. The Constitution is an inspired document. It comes from the Son.

Pope endorses "World Political Authority"

Pope endorses "World Political Authority"

-snips-
Pope Benedict XVI's "Charity in Truth" statement is a radical document that puts the
Roman Catholic Church firmly on the side of an emerging world government.

The controversial papal statement comes just before a meeting of the G-8 nations and
a scheduled meeting between the Pope and President Obama at the vatican on July 10.

The "teeth" may come in adopting the global environmental agenda, which the Pope warmly endorses.

He doesn't explain how it will be possible for citizens to influence or control this
"world political authority" when they are under its bureaucratic authority.
