Sophomore class Vice-president, and even at that dropped out a couple months early. Quit school, had a pregnant girlfriend to support :-)

In the Army (Ft. LeonardWood, MO), 8-weeks lived in so-called modern 'brick' barracks for Basic Training, and then, for Advanced Individual Training (AIT), these WW2-style 'wood' barracks held sway. Which one better? the brick barracks were fine for in the winter, which i had, but the wood barracks were cold as heck in early January to thru mid-February.
Up early here on the West Coast (off the Pac Highway), the morning coffee hasn't kicked in yet - get back to you on the 'OToma' - At this juncture, no snappy comebacks come to mind.

Gibbon: while the morals must be kept to maintain a republic, every effort to restore them once lost, has failed. But lets understand the terms here. The morals have been given by received authority, namely religion. Which however has become increasingly discredited.
The historical accuracy of scripture has been disproven. Greater scholarship of obscure documents reveal plagiarism of what had been thot to be the "veritable word of God."
Then too, the dualism of good/evil has been destroyed by the psychological analysis revealing what evil is, in fact, dementia. A sane man is never evil. The behavior causing 'crime' and 'evil' has been traced to hormones and the biochemistry of the mind, as well as the structural differences in the brain as revealed by FMRI scans.
Both the structure and the biochemistry behind genius and dementia are largely driven by the DNA and the interaction of dietary deficit and contamination. Failure to develop properly has also been traced to violent trauma and exposure to pathogens at critical times during mental development.
So- what do we mean by moral? A good place to start is Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics. He understands that the 'evildoer' is in fact, as we now say, pathological. We mite also follow up with what the Stoics, like Epictetus had to say. http://daybrown.org/epictus/epictus.html is an example, but there are lotsa links. He suggests how to be rational.
Now, Aristotle said- most men are such slaves to passion that they'd do better in the hands of a more rational master. Much of the struggle we see, and have always seen, is who gets to be master, and unfortunately, the power elites who run the goverments and transnationals, have not been that rational master.
"I think I mite like to move to Russia, where they take their tyranny straight up, undiluted with the waters of hypocrisy." A. Lincoln. Who, incidentally is the most tyrannic president we ever had. But is fascism really worse than the hypocritical way that "democracy" is carried on?
The Founding Farmers who wrote the Constitution never imagined the skill with which the mind of the electorate is manipulated by mass corporate media. That manipulation would not be possible if the electorate was rational. And since it is not, we do not, in fact, have a democracy, but a fascist system pretending to be one. We'd do better to admit what has been going on.

If it were not for the might of the US military, other Mexicans would already have her land. It aint like the Yankee are the only predatory bastards on this planet, just the best at it. The wall has worked for Israel, and it'll work here. Eminent domain is always an issue, so if she wants one, she's got it.
