Do the QRS have a superiority complex?

It has come to my attention that the QRS seem to feel a certain superiority...

Why?

Most people have an arbitrary value system, which they use to judge people. Even those of us who hate value systems have a system ourselves -- we hate those who look down on others who do not meet their standards. In doing so, we are feeling superior to them.

I challenge you to name a single person who isn't some kind of elitist.

Some people really are superior at some things. I don't have a problem with people thinking that they're better at something than I am, as long as they actually are. Of course, the idea of someone "just being better" without specifying a domain for comparison doesn't make any sense.

But I don't think that Q, R, and and S are superior at much of anything.

I believe they are far superior to the average person in logical reduction via deduction. In other words, for what it is worth, they are more or less masters at pure logic.

I believe Quinn and Rowden are jointly moderating a forum because it follows from their belief systems and talents. Kevin rarely talks, and I hear he's getting less interested in thinking in his old age. He likely has no specific talents to apply his genius toward. (This might be an unfair statement; I simply have little evidence.)

If using whatever your talents may be as your belief systems dictate is a "superiority complex", then I don't want the opposite of a superiority complex.

But that's not the common definition of superiority complex, which is a disorder, and not even something you should make fun of somebody for.

I can't think of a single way to consider the behaviour that Quinn, Rowden, and Solway adopt as anything but virtuous.

It seems to me that a wise thinker is an expert at reasoning, so they tend to speak as an authority because they are confident in what they know. And this confidence comes off as arrogance, but I don’t believe such a man is deriving a lot of self-esteem or ego fortification from his words, he is merely speaking with conviction.

Who here thinks they are genius?

Dan is still waiting on your thoughts on Worldly... before he deletes that thread.

Trevor,
Kevin rarely talks, and I hear he's getting less interested in thinking in his old age.
46 is old age? What are you, 18?

Sher,
46 is old age? What are you, 18?
Good point. Age is an illusion: neither he nor me are old or young.

Do the QRS have a superiority complex?
No, we have a complex superiority.

To me that is an old age. I am 17.

So what, Chaotic? My niece is 2 and to her you are old.

And shouldn't you be like, in school or doing your homework or something?

Why would I be in school at 2am...

And good comeback Dan.

You believe you are superior to me?

Enlightenment has overarching benefits. A pure mind learns more quickly, remembers more, works faster under duress, is less likely to tire, or make mistakes, etc. Due to this i may attribute a general, overarching superiority to those enlightened. Even a bodybuilder would bodybuild better if he was enlightened, and be better in the rest of his life too.

It's encouraging to see a seventeen year old here. I wish i'd had this opportunity.

Well, to be honest, I was more or less mocking your thread.
You believe you are superior to me?
Does it matter what I believe?

No. But I just want to know.

If need be, I will prove that you are not superior to me.

Sure, but my willingness to answer is somewhat predicated on your motives for asking.

Well, that should be an interesting ride so for the sake of that I'll say, yes, I am, in a spiritual, philosophical sense. Though, if you can swallow a tablespoon full of cinnamon, you'll have my measure in at least one way.

hahaha. Dude, QRS to pure logic are like kids playing legos to civil engineering. They are completely clueless about logic. What passes for 'logic' with them is informal, intuitionist babble. Their whole schtick is in redefining their way to conclusion, not in actually reasoning.

Name me one person in human history who didn't define their way to conclusions.

Dude, I am not going to play this game. The time to play this game was during the 1st episode of the Reasoning show, when i crushed you on this very topic. If you still don't understand the problem -- if you still don't understand the difference between reasoning from axioms to explicate the implicit, and simply restating trivial tautologies in new words -- go back and listen to it again.

It is like people come to this forum as if into a rock concert but with earplugs on. Then they wonder: What's the point? Others try to tell them to take the plugs off and face the music but nobody listens. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad.
