Classic, local one-liners, and such

Post by Leyla Shen » Wed Oct 17, 2007 11:24 pm

You know, I’ve been rather impressed with the humour on this forum recently. So, I decided to open a thread dedicated to local humour.

17 October 2007
Neil Melnyk: You don't want to be the tree that falls alone in the forest making a sound that nobody ever hears.

Dan Rowden: No, we don't want to be a particularly stupid philosophical cliche. Do you?
~
Philosophaster: The Tao is "infinitely dumb?" What does that mean?
~
Casually (or perhaps apathetically?) slipped in between pages of a raging debate essentially about bullying:
tek0: Half the time nature is trying to kill us as a matter of course and the common state of decay we all share.
:)

Sadly, this will only encourage people to try to be punny.

That would be unfortunate...

PS: you did notice I left your "coconut" comment out, right? Now that was a pun!

Yes, philosophical vaudeville would ensue; we'd end up having to charge admission.

Of course we'd donate all the proceeds to charity. I mean, duh.

Pouring over our grammatical masterpieces eh?

Reminds me of this old episode of Red Dwarf:
