You can ignore users using the scrolling function, no?Katy wrote:never mind.
I like it. Especially some of the new preferences, such as 'ignore user'...
Why do you care?Kelly Jones wrote: You can ignore users using the scrolling function, no?

I think it's important to think about emotions, rather than to express or suppress them.Kelly: You can ignore users using the scrolling function, no?
Katy: Why do you care?
What difference does it make to you?
Finding out what people are really saying, underneath the slander or politeness, and learning to distrust all human motivation, is a very stimulating lesson. It won't happen if one doesn't want to face that ugly reality. And no, using the scrolling function doesn't work very well for ignoring someone who is intentionally abusing you.
OK, so don't use the ignore function yourself since that is the position you are in. What does it matter to you whether someone else uses the ignore function? This sounds a lot more like paranoia that you'll be ignored yourself than any type of philosophical objection.Kelly Jones wrote: I think it's important to think about emotions, rather than to express or suppress them.
I don't recall seeing you do this. Was this just a hypothetical situation, or have you asked people to leave via pm? And if you have asked people to leave via pm, how many have actually left?Kelly Jones wrote:If someone is just unrelentingly boring and irrational, then I ask them to leave the forum on my own behalf. Not much point persisting with a lesson which has been done to death.
