Dark Force for Dark Matter?

Post by Elizabeth Isabelle »

Do you think there is a greater chance that there is a separate force that only interacts with dark matter, or do you think that dark matter is so poorly understood that the original 4 forces could inteact with it differently enough to produce these results?

That was fascinating.
Were you able to read the comments on that article? Seemed reasonable to assume that the unexplained forces were actually regular old fashioned gravity from unidentified sources. It would be much more fun to find it was something else, though.

Dark matter and dark energy are theoretical constructs, built to explain some things that don't fit into our current understanding of the universe.

Dark matter is not definitely known to exist, and there may turn out to be some other explanation, such as MOND.
