According to taoist tradition, that tail on the animal is used for channeling energy from the earth out of the body, as it's brain would not be able to handle earth energy. Humans, on the other hand, can handle earth's energy traveling into the brain, as a good old fashioned kundalini awakening will show.

When we started walking up right we didn't need the counterbalance of the tail to fulcrumize our hips. Plus, when we started wearing clothes we no longer needed an ass cover.

I've already given the correct answer. Anything she says will, therefore, be wrong or redundant. Don't hold your breath for more illumination on this topic.

For what purpose would we need a tail?
Blood's gotta go into it, and it takes energy to keep it around.
Evolution has a way of getting rid of those things which cost more energy than they are worth.

That's fodder for a really bad joke.

It's probably not what you think, you pervert! :) It had to do with people that function mechanically.

We should have guessed that your unwarranted superiority complex was the substance of the joke.

Don't get your knickers in a twist. As mechanical and dead as you are; it wasn't about you.

You're a liar in a forum about truth. That makes you a fool.

Tails

Post by DHodges » Mon Nov 20, 2006 11:57 pm

I'm no zoologist, but I'm pretty sure that humans are not the only animals that don't have tails.

What was the point of this question?

Let me take a stab at the question.

The tail is purely functional, most mammals use their tails for climbing. So as our distant hominid ancestors begun to stand upright and spend most of their time on the ground there would no longer be a need for a tail so over thousands of years it would be lost.

10 rounds? 15 rounds? Or is it infinite like the "What is death?" thread? :)

Aha! So infinity can have a begining but no end! ;)

Very good! The word also means "without fixed or specified limit". That doesn't take anything away from your brilliant response, though. :)
