Why do you feel a need to remove my threads?

Post by unwise » Sun Jun 11, 2006 1:33 am

I put up a couple pictures of myself and friends. I thought Mr. Quin wanted to know more personal stuff about me, and, it is always interesting to 'see' who you are dealing with on-line.

I think my picture was taken down inside of four hours.

This is not the first time I've had threads removed. It used to happen in the 'old days' as well.

Like Frank says, it's a heavily guarded day-care nursery they are running here. No coloring outside the lines. Naptime at 3.

your threads havent been removed, but rather, they've been moved over to the worldly matters forum.

I don't think they're singling you out, Cap. It happens to any thread that isn't philosophy related.

I don't mind them moving threads, but there should be a notice that the thread has been moved. I've seen this on other sites.

I've never looked at the other areas here.

I refuse to leave a "shadow" for moved threads that have been brainlessly posted in the main forum. The subject matter of that forum is very explicit. Grow one, Nemo. You could have posted that personal shit in the thread where David challenged you; instead you chose to make a thread all about who you are.

In fact, and more to to the point, you could have just said you're friggin' Nemo!

Moron. I'm not in the "mood" for morons, Nemo, so don't test me if you want to stay here.

What kind of a bully are you that you come into 'Worldly Matters' to threaten me?

I've left the philosophy section to you geniuses. You have relegated me to this area so that is where I am. To me, every possible thing is a matter of philosophy, but I have come here for a more relaxed area that will allow for more latitude. Doesn't it? I've left the philosophy area for the usual heroic masculinity and the intense concentration of Suergaz and others.

Why chase me here with a spatula in hand like an angry mother who is at the end of her tether?

I've been over here for two weeks minding my business. Still, you haunt me and call me names.

He, did! It done did get shifted off to Worldly Matters.

Dan may drop you (even further) off the ledge to "archives", then you are in real limbo. Then, the newcomer/genius will search out the scriptures (archive) for meaningful truths applicable to him/her and perhaps, writes a tidbit or two for their own well-being.

Dan may resurrect it (out of archive) if stimulating enough for further reflection by all of us.

This is 'what is' unique about Dan & David ... no time for the malarky.

When they were on Topica listserve, the first thing i did (upon arriving) was a quick scan of the entire site, didn't plunge headlong into any discussion-threads. Hung out for a few weeks to get a "feel" for the crew-at-hand to see if they were up to snuff in the intellect department.

You know, i have a genius-IQ on the tests (Iowa Basic Skills, military entrance exams, MENSA, etc.) the worldly dog-and-pony shows, but hey, that don't mean nothing when i'm right here, right now.

You're right Tomas, those IQ tests don't mean shit. They mean that your parents are white and read to you when you were young. You paid attention and 'groked' what was important to white people - the language, the vocabulary, the word play, the geometric shapes, linear logic etc. There are MANY types of intelligence. Many people with supposed high IQs are poor musicians, have no common sense, are lost in their heads and otherwise display dumbassery. -- A meaningless concept unless you want to make formal educational institutions open their doors to you (and impress people by telling us about it.)

All I requested was for the moderators to supply a 'shadow thread' that informs the posters and those interested in the thread that it has been moved. This is a matter of courtesy and standard procedure on the web. When you say that Dan & David have 'no time for the malarky,' you give them a pass for anti-social behavior and mean-spirited touchiness - and lack of tact. They (and you, a devotee) call this 'cutting through the bullshit," but it is really a sign off a thin-skinned person who carries a grudge on his 'enlightened' shoulders.

There seems to be no humor, happiness, sympathy, empathy, playfulness or ability to take abuse in these people. Are you mistaking sociopaths for gurus?

David has had his moments of humor :-)

Unfortunately, his is with a 'U" in humour. The correct spelling is humor ... without the happy U .

Those dang english_outcasts who were banished to Australia and live among the aborigine.

The whole lot are nothing but criminal in their blood.

A devotee - joke. Hahahah

ps- Dan has yet to place a section for little 'ol me.

David and Dan are the Yin-Yang of internet.

I'm a pretty good musician, but I don't have a lick of common sense. Oh, well.

I have seen David Quinn in particular take huge amounts of abuse, when he sees a point to doing so. He's also made some intensely funny comments on occasion.

Anyway, having a different opinion about whether a 'shadow thread' is appropriate doesn't seem like a good reason to call someone a sociopath.

It's better to supply a link to a picture, rather than the picture itself. It's better for the server, and better for people who don't have a high-speed connection. That's certainly nothing personal; it's been discussed here before, although you may have not been around at the time.
