Sometimes I look back into the archives and I'm reminded of the people who used to post here. Tharan...Anna...Paul...Matheus...
Have these people moved on in their lives? Or do they still visit the forum?

Shardrol,
The thought of his death was probably triggered in me because to my mind there was always something deathly about him. Even though he was a trickster with a lot of wisdom, intelligence and imagination, there was a tone to his overall behaviour which suggested that he wasn't really a part of our world. He was like a denizen from the hereafter.

Because they like to serve them in restaurants?Odd - I find it not unlikely that Lobster could be dead. I wonder why.

I think it is likely that Anna is simply going about her life -- being a nurse, being a married woman, having a good time.
I recall Lobster but not that plainly.
I wonder about Al Young. Bob Willis. Joe Dees. Thom.
Those are the only ones that come readily to mind. That woman in Canada who had a crush on Kevin.

I'm curious about Claudia Grinnell. And who was that Jane Austen-type character who gave the impression of wearing high-necked dresses with many buttons & was always talking about her brother?
It looked to me as if birdofhermes was genuinely wounded by not being taken seriously as a thinker &, even more particularly, as a person on a meaningful spiritual journey. I don't think she understood why people got frustrated with her.

He & I had some discussions about things that were important to me, but through all of it there was never even a whiff of any kind of personal relationship, not even the kind of internet acquaintanceship I have with you, for example. He was like a phantom - as you say, not really a part of our world. Something about him intrigued me, but it's hard to imagine him continuing to exist for a long time in that state.

Yes I know exactly what you mean here. He was like one of those unnaturally wise children whose light shines very brightly & who then die young, after having amazed everyone with their precocity. The thought of [Lobster's] death was probably triggered in me because to my mind there was always something deathly about him. I can believe that Joe Dees is growing a fourth or fifth testicle by now. Also a robust character. He was thick as a brick.
My guess is that Bob and Thom are both still alive. I would bet on Bob quicker than Thom. Bob was homosexual and had some political hang-ups. Thom had some deeper issues. He was a would-be Jesuit who had problems reconciling his secular life -- including his wife and kids. I think he had a lot of guilt about not becoming a Jesuit. He was proud of his chemistry degree but not proud of his job.
The irony, of course, is that he would do as good as a chemical salesman as a Jesuit. Kind of sad faulting oneself for not becoming what one has become.
Selling is selling.

Al was pretty robust. Out there reading Popular Mechanics, no doubt.I'm sure Al is still round about. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Bob and Thom are dead. And Joe is no doubt out there somewhere busily growing a fourth testicle.
