Hmm, why do you deserve food over others, Dan? You could donate the rest of your life's energy consumption to another... for your own life of course.

I want to help spur contentness - when I choose my graduate school I will either be in the following two fields;

Neuropharmacology to cure schizophrenia & psychosis. (Alot easier then you may think actually.)

Renewable energy - Researching newer more intelligent ways to harvest those damn photons.

I want to be a part of why humanity succeeded in this era, not why we failed.

i like to lie to myself and tell myself i have meaning, and will come upon my greater purpose.

i can't spend too much time analyzing this because i will realize otherwise.

Guurb. If you give yourself meaning, and you believe it to be true (why wouldn't it - you create your reality) then isn't it not purpose? Don't be so gloomy, friend.

i guess purpose and meaning can be viewed differently.

i just think it would be better to know there is no purpose than to believe there is a purpose and never seeing it. it will just lead to disappointment.

Gurrb, thats a bit immature.

You can create your purpose, and until you can get over your ego enough to establish that you have the power to create your own purpose, and be it truthful, and meaningful, then you will see the purpose.

Ironic as it sounds, it cannot be wrong.

it would be the exact opposite of ego. it's just a matter of opinion and how you view the meaning of 'purpose'. i don't want to be bound by this 'purpose', feeling obligated to fulfill it. i just think spontaneity arises from lack of obligation.
