The poem does not say that the first man to dream felt sad or lonely because of the first dream, but it does say that a witness to the aftermath of the first woman to dream might interpret her body language as appearing to make her lonely, which he might interpret as sadness. Poor little thing. From this I would say that the first man to fall in love with the sadness of another would be falling in love with the vulnerability of another. You know. Provider, protector, fixer, invulnerable dreamer, and back in the day, owner.SeekerOfWisdom wrote:So it was dreams that caused sadness and loneliness in this guys opinion cahoot?

Re: Wise Quotes Collection
The Epistle of James (James 3:13-18; cf. James 1:5) distinguishes between two kinds of wisdom. One is a false wisdom, which is characterized as "earthly, sensual, devilish" and is associated with strife and contention. The other is the 'wisdom that comes from above':
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [and] easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
—James 3:17

Re: Wise Quotes Collection
"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." -Jesus

Re: Wise Quotes Collection
"The word “enlightenment” is sometimes used to mean moksha or liberation, and this is probably the best way to conceive of it. To be enlightened means to be liberated from all forms, all things, all events, all states, all hopes, all regrets, all happiness, and all suffering. It even means being liberated from the truth, from the spiritual path, from all knowledge and wisdom, even from enlightenment itself. In each moment, all of it has to be abandoned. Throw it all away as though it were a filthy piece of clothing. Whatever you think you might have achieved, whatever insights you might have gathered, whatever skills or merits you believe you have accumulated, whatever mystical experiences you have enjoyed, whatever social standing you possess – all of it needs to be tossed to the winds and allowed to disperse. Hold on to nothing whatsoever."

Besides that David holds on to lots of things that's a very good description, a translation:

"How deeply did you let go?" - Buddha

Buddha in Glory
Center of all centers, core of cores,
almond self-enclosed, and growing sweet--
all this universe, to the furthest stars
all beyond them, is your flesh, your fruit.
Now you feel how nothing clings to you;
your vast shell reaches into endless space,
and there the rich, thick fluids rise and flow.
Illuminated in your infinite peace,
a billion stars go spinning through the night,
blazing high above your head.
But in you is the presence that
will be, when all the stars are dead.

"Trolling is a art." moot, founder of 4chan
For some reason I revisited this place a few months ago, saw it as a madhouse, and wanted to make it a revolving door. I had nearly left and then John appeared who reminded me of myself from about eight years ago and I wanted to break through. Later I realized I still had some desire for Enlightenment and it became channeled through treating the entire forum as a deconstruction Crucible with sporting comrades. It has been fun and fruitful but dangerous. John, please move forward.
Dennis, sorry about the prangs.

What do you mean exactly? Move forward as in, leave the past behind? (In relation to your deconstruction Crucible and trolling)

Yes John, I was asking for forgiveness. I saw the circular nature of these discussions and I experimented in breaking the cycles. Also that statement was a message for you to penetrate what your friends at Genius Forums are saying, or to move on from this place.

oh, no need to ask, and that's good that you broke the cycle. They say a lot of things, I found that the forum shouldn't be taken seriously, there is no need to do anything.
Re: Wise Quotes Collection
Who is "they"? - and what is "the forum"? What sort of entity is this "forum"; what mouth does it speak from; whose fingers press the keys? What sort of dream are you in, Seeker, where there is a you, but there's only a "they" with which you dialogue? What happened to their "you"s? Are you the only one?Seeker writes: They say a lot of things, I found that the forum shouldn't be taken seriously, there is no need to do anything.
And this forum - does it precede all the theys that write here? Does its 'essence' precede and inform all the contributions of its you's? Could a thing referring to "genius" coherently demand that all inquiry walk and talk alike?
There've been a fair few people (like coming-clean brad above) who have struggled with this forum qua forum: entity, rather than individuals-thinking. Essence, rather than what actually manifests. Even philosopher/administrators that would put forth a one-way, one conclusion enlightenment forum cannot side-step manifestations of the individual, the particular, in matters of genius.
It's a straw dog; a false-bogey man; a windmill at which to tilt: The Forum. Get past that, then maybe you could take people "seriously" here; actually "get something done." :)

John, the essence of trolling is attention-seeking. But does it serve one or more purposes as well? Does it make a difference?

Re: Wise Quotes Collection
"they" and "the forum" were in reference to Brad's comment about the Genius Forum people and what they are saying (ask him), all I replied to say was it didn't concern me, there is a lot said about everything by all.
You say a lot of nothing, about nothing, making jokes about the nothing you refuse to accept.
You don't understand there is nothing but what is seen of the mind so you make jokes about it.
There are individuals thinking but there is only one truth and one shared "what is", the truth of "what is" was known and written thousands of years ago and it won't ever change, the only thing that changes per individual is correct speculation or erroneous speculation (most speech borders on erroneous because words don't describe it).
Erroneous speculation is when people talk about the world as if it is something independent of consciousness, or when they talk about consciousness as if it is a product of the world or dependent on the body, this is called "self-clinging".
Maybe it is you that needs to "get something done" and find out where your standing and where you should be standing.
Where you should be standing is "I don't know anything besides that I don't know anything".
After that there are only a few things left that you know.
"What is" is consciousness, "external reality" is an idea existing within consciousness.
"I think I know and give great credibility to my conceptualizations of things I don't know about" is for Pye to do, and hence it is for Pye to continue doing.
Oh, and there is one common essence, and it does precede all "matter", which has been completely annihilated (sorry) as the cause and doesn't really exist except for as a name for manifestations of eternally changing sensation.
Have you considered your panties are in a knot because I'm simply completely disagreeing with you? If they aren't in a knot then you should be in recognition that we are experiencing the exact same "what is" and then also be in recognition that "what is" hasn't changed, only our speculation and descriptions have changed, one truth.

Re: Wise Quotes Collection
That isn't the case here, me and Pye are in disagreement, waking state experience is derived externally, those experiences correlate to real objects apparently while other experiences of sensation and those objects are not :\ I could swear I was at these hectic water slides with a perfect 10 from high school last night.... but that shit just doesn't happen here, in "real" life :(
It can only be two ways for the body:
"This is me, the source of my being, when it ends I end."
Or "This is not me, it is an experience of my being rather than the source, when it ends "I" do not end."
Are there any other choices, what do you think?
If you do have conviction in the infinite, what would you name you, knowing life is eternal?
To be honest I find discussion on the fundamentals of the nature of ultimate reality/enlightenment the most interesting kind, it doesn't happen at any time for most people and still not enough on here, too much obscurity, no one is open with the specifics of their opinions, are you going to remain like "they"? Inquiring but not being open to inquiry like Dennis? All I want to know is where everyone stands with a point of the finger, not an escort in which they lead me round and round trying to slow my approach to the goal "This is what I think".

Jesus, in a gnostic gospel, the gospel of Thomas, apparently said: (Who cares who said it)
"If the flesh came into being because of spirit, that is a marvel, but if spirit came into being because of the body, that is a marvel of marvels.
I marvel at how this great wealth has come to dwell in this poverty." (Sarcasm)
