Ok, I reiterate my question. I am not so much interested in references to searches, or material, that I have already read. I am more curious about what people on this board think about it.

I'm not sure that I can it put any better than Hakuin. He speaks about it with great clarity.

Kensho (direct insight into the nature of Reality) is critical to all spiritual progress. Without it, one continues to stumble around blindly in the dark.
