Nisargadda on love itself

In dream you love some and not others. On waking up you find you are love itself, embracing all. Personal love, however intense and genuine, invariably binds; love in freedom is love of all. Alas, the act of “loving all” as depicted here cannot be done emotionally. Emotion is discriminative by nature.
Alas, the act of “loving all” as depicted here embraces all in an act of acceptance and realization that excludes nothing; such love does not exclude a person, an experience, a thought, or an emotion. Such profound love embraces the whole and the discriminated, so it must include the emotional.

The wise person loves all things, including violence and hatred. But that doesn't mean that he thinks it's okay to behave in a violent or hateful way.

Likewise, the wise person loves emotion, as he does all things, but that doesn't mean he thinks it's okay to behave emotionally.

The wise person is neutral to violence and hatred, even amused when directed at him or her. In accepting violence and hatred, the wise person may reflect the same emotion with an awareness of the lightness of the situation. This may infuriate the instigator even more, but in the long term it will make it easier for them to see their lightness and be guilt-free.

It isn't a matter of "loving" violence and hatred, which implies condoning. Violence and hatred exist. A wise man doesn't take them personally, as people act according to their beliefs and conditioning.

Does the wise man bear a definate definition?
Isn't it possible for a wise man to hate all things, but be accepting to them?

This would be a choice, but why??? Hate may be too strong a word if he's accepting, but if he is disliking everything, he wouldn't be choosing to live very long. Why choose to be here if you don't like anything about what's here? There would have to be something gained from the experience here, so you couldn't really dislike everything. Obviously, this would be a very rare person indeed.

A distinction should be made, though, between what one likes and dislikes within belief systems or ego personality and what one considers to be of value from a soul perspective. If someone dislikes some things within their beliefs, they're going to like other things just by the nature of the belief system of personal judgment. It's possible, though, for a soul personality to enter a very brief life to fulfill a very specific value-desire, but they probably wouldn't do it in these times we're living now. It would be hard to classify that soul as wise or not, too, because that soul wouldn't be from this universe or this "area" of consciousness and therefore be exempt from the type of advancement going on here.
