Re: Spiritual Warfare
I see. Everyone would like to understand. Not everyone can understand, because they want to feel comfortable. The journey towards understanding the truth isn't comfortable, because we've been finding behind delusion. Truth requires us to become exposed. So, ...Is there a limit to how far we can take...

Re: Unconsciousness as a threat to the Species
That should be the ultimate ideal, but fully transcending samsara/emotionalism is very difficult given the fact that our genetic roots are so dark and flawed. No, I disagree. It starts off perfectly. We must somehow comeback to truth. It is almost as if there is quite a bit of emotional imperfectio...

Re: Suicide (warning: please do not read if you're suicidal!!!)
Where is the logic flawed? Has it deceived me? Ignorance - where? You must show me the logical flaw. Through forgetting, happiness / contentment is reached. This is what I call a useful delusion, but in the end it must be understood as such. Ahhh... The bliss of ignorance fulfills me once more. Usef...

Re: Suicide (warning: please do not read if you're suicidal!!!)
I wonder: Am I wrong in that I want to understanding the suffering? I want to eliminate it through understanding it. Delusion -> understanding -> truth. Seriously, is there something wrong with this? If so, then this site has brought me unnecessary suffering. However, I suffer much less through the ...

Re: Suicide (warning: please do not read if you're suicidal!!!)
My question is this: let's say that the quality of one's life is as it should be - What would make one think about suicide? For instance, I've personally thought of suicide, so is there a rational explanation for it? For the thought or the procession of it... ? Originally, I posted that question, be...

Re: Progress Towards Enlightenment
OK. I'll try to explain... Enlightenment: Is the term we apply to a mind or consciousness that is without delusion or, perhaps more accurately, it's absence of delusions from the thinking process. This doesn't mean that one does not experience doubt, assumptions, different perspectives, etc... No, t...

Re: Jesus!
Jesus Christ wanted the truth to be known. The truth should be known. I don't see a problem with this.
I really don't care if anyone else knows the truth (unlike a sage). I want to know the truth. That's it. What's wrong with this? I see nothing wrong.

Does that include the truth?Could it be that the true gift of Christmas is not what comes from the department store but what comes from our hearts in the sharing of good food and good company?

The belief that it certainly will occur makes the former all that much more likely. There are realistic beliefs and then there are unrealistic beliefs. Two examples of both: you cut a limb off and believe that it'll grow back vs. you believe you'll ace your midterms even though you missed two-thirds...

Is there a rational explanation for why this phenomena may or may not occur? Schizophrenics' experience these things constantly. As do many mentally healthy individuals.

I'd make a distinction between sane-courage and insane-courage. The former is when the odds of achieving something greater is in one's favor.Courage is really just conscious determination overcoming other forces such as fear and attachments of various kinds.

\Your whole life seems pointless.
Why do you say that?
I'm thinking about my family. I have unintentionally caused them great suffering. Now, what if this great suffering can be at least minimized by my peril?

Re: Causality and Consciousness
In a way, that's true. The gaps are part and parcel of being conscious. To be conscious is to be conscious of "things", with gaps automatically inserted in between each thing. Would you say that because of these gaps there is room for error? (experience may aid in such error) Good. Throug...

What if I told you this has nothing to do with emotional pain?IMO, emotional pain is just as real and hard to bear as physical pain.
Dan, what do you mean? (your answer confuses me)
