Re: Nuthin'

If you want to be attractive to women, start by getting rid of the beard. Thanks for the advice buns but there's only so far that I'm willing to go. These days I trim my beard down really short occasionally, to the point that it looks acceptable, and I do that purely because it probably makes me mo...

Not particularly, but you haven't actually said anything concrete yet. If you have something to say, then you might as well go ahead and say it. If not, then don't. Either way's fine with me.

You know what Carl? I've had a gutful of you mate. This is your thread, and you supposedly want to engage with me, but when I send you the most detailed responses that I've got, you come back with a couple of terse, pitiful posts. You call me "girly", but let's face facts: you wouldn't kno...

Laird, I command you to annotate your posts that are contrary to your real feelings on subject, by inserting "/sarcasm" at the end of such sentences. Tell you what, you let me know your military rank and I'll decide whether I'm obliged to take commands from you. Ah, fuck it, who am I kidd...

Re: Does it matter or not?

When I'm sleep dreaming there never seems to be a true sense of a self. Yes, I know what you mean - it's the same for me. Nevertheless there's a big difference between not having a sense of self and not having an actual self. Without the actual self, there would be no you there to have the dream. T...

You are wrong, because I am not "purely intent on criticising without making any contribution." My intent is to help you, help the forum, and in the long term work for, lacking a better term, the survival of wisdom. Also, what I, and Sue and Dan, I think, have seen as contribution is what...

What about children? Holy canoly, there's plenty of reasons for me to avoid them like the plague (well, not in general - I love kids - just as in fathering my own). By no means the least is that the planet is already overpopulated. If I wanted kids I'd probably adopt. Primarily though I'm concerned...

Re: Forget about Enlightenment

mikiel, Enlightenment is not about "self improvement" but "self" transcendence. The latter word requires direct experience to "grok" its meaning. You apparently have no such experience (compare my 38 yrs of meditation) so there is no common ground here for communication...
