Re: On the 'Blessedness' of Anger.....

"Deep contentment of being is encountered in existence only when love is present; the pain of existence lies in my having to hate; the emptyness of non-being is contained in the stale indifference in which I neither love nor hate. In love I attain the heights, in hatred and lovelessness I plung...

Yes, I'd say so, Bobo. And from my own personal experience I find it takes a finely-tuned conscience and a strong stomach for the task.

Re: On the 'Blessedness' of Anger.....

I remember of you talking about love (as enlightenment?), a state of the heart, a love of what? If you did put things this way. I have spoken of love; love of life, love of one's fellows, love of the universe and everything in it. However, in order to make the return to love in all it's fullness an...

Surely we're in the last days, mv. It can't get much darker than it is, humanly speaking. Though I do foresee a bright future for man.

On the 'Blessedness' of Anger.....

"Anger is a great quality, a classic quality, and one rarely evident today, for what people feel just now is usually resentment and bitterness, the telltale feelings of people who consider themselves imposed upon, who know that they are not getting their due, who feel small. True or classic ang...

An area i seem to be mentally and physically defective. A diare progeny of an 'over-active mind'? My experience is that an over-active mind can be a blessing in disquise. Surely it's better than having a dull mind. As it's from an overactive mind alone that a radical transformation of consciousness...

I don't get what, Bob? That you can talk until your tongue goes numb and your wrist dislocates from gesticulations and they don't, nay never will 'geddit'? Yes, I think you know my stand here, TA. Re: Can people change?

The reason I put things in such stark terms is in the hope that these words will penetrate *someone* or *anyone* around here and at least cause them to consider things with a little more depth and seriousness. A few words to the potentially wise will suffice. But you just don't seem to get it, TA.

Re: Can people change?

Kind of cool his (Jung's) choice of the word 'demonic' when it sort of should been 'divine'. So, you have to be a little 'demonic' to hold it together? And Holderlin and Nietzsche were then too angelic? ;-) How about a perfect balance of both the demonic and the angelic? I think here of Nietzsche's...

Can you find that quote by Freud? I think I read it second hand in Jung's essay on Freud. But since you are the quote-maven I thought you might be able to locate it. In a letter written at the end of his life to Michael Fordham, Carl Jung wrote that nobody understood him and his work had been a fai...

No one here EVER talks about the sort of 'overcoming'the Nietzsche wrote of. How could they? It is unrecognizable to them! What they seem to talk about is...the inside of the little burrow they've dug out for themselves, and those late November walls one which they watch flicker the fading play of ...

SOLITUDE - the DESERT - the WILDERNESS

As soon as Jesus emerged from the water (his baptism) He went into the desert. From the multitude to solitude! Until then He had lived among the waters and the fields of Galilee and in the green meadows along the Jordan. Now He went up on the rocky mountains whence no springs arise, where no seed sp...

Rampant altruism that's not guided by wisdom is surely going to help bring an end to the present scheme of things. Though I do see a future for the human species. "The weak and the botched shall perish: first principle of our charity. And one should help them to it. What is more harmful than an...

Man's purpose is the same as that of Jesus. To find and become the way, the truth and the life of the risen Christ in him. To proceed into the depth of his living conscious, surrender himself to the Christ who says: "Behold, I make all things new. . .Write, for these words are true and faithfu...

I think it was Ludwig Feuerbach who said one must become totally negative if he's to ever create anything radically new. Which has been my experience also.
