real: what is

realistic: what probably is

a meaning that has probability attached to it is the work of the intellect. a meaning that has certainty attached to it is instinctive, but of course that doesn't mean it's real -- God is dead, after-all.

edit: scratch that. I'm gonna be serious here I believe that the edge of critical though can be turned on *anything*, even objectivity. A critical thinker isn't interested in the truth, s/he just wants to destroy lies. Lies are tangible, but the truth is ineffable. If you look carefully, I didn't *a...

I experienced an intense, but relatively minor kundalini rising. It didn't bust through the crown chakra, and I can't recall any enlightenment (having experienced that in a separate instance), just some fleeting ecstacy (I estimate about six hours), and a week-long endocrine burn-out. It's definitel...

Can you make the case that fiction and reality are the same? I woud probably find that interesting. Well, I think it's revealing that we respond to fiction in essentially the same way that we respond to things given to our immediate senses -- and often moreso when it comes to history books and news...

Thinking critically about the distinction between fiction...

...and reality.

If there really is such a thing -- I'm not convinced. Is there really any compelling or crucial difference between fiction and the "real"?

the only way the mind can percieve the whole is if it's relaxed enough to accept the whole -- a tense mind focuses, concentrates and excludes in a willful way; it is not the speculum of all creation.

Totally! I mean, it's not like you were sincerely talking out your ass. You're a post-modern man! Who has the energy to take responsibility for what they say anymore?

Then you'll have to get yourself out of the social hypnosis ..you'll have to live as an outlaw. You should've stopped here. You'll have to get yourself a lair in the forest and piss on trees to mark your territory...and you'll have to defend it. Bullshit. That's only true if you're adopting the wes...

dolphins have been known to gang up on and bash sharks to death for fun. play isn't necesarily a benign endeavor.

the owl's eyes pierce the veil of darkness and though he's an efficient killer, he doesn't do it for fun. Sharp senses, nothing extraneous.

Music vs. Silence

U.G. Krishnamurti said he preferred the barking of a dog or the grunting of a pig to music--he says they have more life. I can dig that, but I gotta have my Sage Francis (check it out sevens, if you dig on Deltron, look up Sage.) Ah but we all know silence is supreme, meditation might simply a thoro...

The archetype is universal, though. I don't think someone like Hu Zheng can rest in samsara so if he ever falls from grace (something which I'm not even convinced of) then I have no doubt he'll find himself again.

Oh... not precisely, but he seems to have that "natural stock of spiritual power"--he's gifted. He's found his own path and has now found his girl. He's even around the same age Sidhartha was when he found Kamala. I guess I may as well mention that it was through her he met Kamaswami, and in the yea...

Re: psh!!

Neither do fundamentalist Christians and schizophrenics, so you're in good company there. fundamentalism is a result of intellectual rigidity. Well, these can only be of use if you are fairly wise and rational to begin with. You can't really find any wisdom in these activities if you lack that spec...
