Good point Scott, absolute physical stillness really enhances the depth of meditation, in my experience. When the body is still, the physical distractions are minimal and its much easier to maintain clear, undisturbed mindfulness.

I think Kelly has a bias against vipassana because it's Buddhist, and thus keeps a closed mind towards it. To counter, the actual retreats don't involve any rituals or beliefs, and the rules, while strict, are there for practical reasons. The fact remains that a vipassana retreat can be quite useful...
