Topic: Why it is awkward to say "I love you"

Well, my point was specific to the difference between infatuation and genuinely felt love. Some would probably argue that no such difference exists but I think it does in that infatuation is more tenuous and whimsical; it doesn't withstand any dose of reality because it is usually entirely ideation...

Let me give you a list of things I did when I was suicidally depressed (which was really a good chunk of my life): I think a psychologist could help with that - specifically a female one in your case (in mine, needed to be male because for some reason I deal better with men) Even if you don't do any...

What if you were to view the word "love" in the sentence "I love you" in the active sense then? As in, "I am doing things to love you". Would that help you to be more direct in expressing it? Do you even want to be more direct? It seems a bit like spin. Love, to me, is...

No, my words and actions match.
I question whether my feelings and thoughts match those though.

I usually say "uh-voo." I'm not sure why I can't say the words, but somehow replacing them with nonsense makes it easier (even though i know how they'll take it) - also like Cory I say "you too" a lot. I've occasionally wondered if it's to avoid lying.

While I am not aware of the Dalai Lama having originated any world-shaking ideas, I would be curious to find out whether he claims that it's others' moral duty to support him. Are we necessarily after world-shaking ideas? One could offer many monks in different traditions as people who spend their ...

Alas, history doesn't support this supposition. I can't think of any major figure in human history who produced something of great value while forcing others to support their indolence. Greek philosophers generally didn't make others pay for their upkeep. Buddha and Jesus and Lao Tze and Confucius ...

You know, an outpatient hospitalization might help you a lot. It helped me. Mostly because someone was checking on my meds and crap every single day and yet I didn't feel trapped since I still got to see my family at night. Just seems if you're that desperate you should do something.

Why do I have the feeling I've seen this whole fight before? EI - you have to build it into the system that you still get the minimum so that your McJawb earns you over the minimum. That's pretty easily done. Incidentally, the socialist candidate, Royal, is one of the two contenders for the French p...

Well, this forum does encourage self analysis, but I'm afraid you won't find support for astrology, and the IQ/traditional definition doesn't apply at all.

So a person with schizophrenia that isn't on meds is sane, so long as they don't commit a crime? Sane is a legal term and has no medical definition. Thus unless someone is in the legal system, they are neither sane nor insane. I'm not defining mental illness. I'm defining sane which simply means th...

Yes, Scott. I disagree that anyone can be considered "insane" unless they have committed a crime as the term is a legal term and not a medical term. Additionally, I know right from wrong; thus, I am not insane. And nor is Elizabeth.

He has said as much. And I'll show you entries from my personal journal from before and after I was medicated that could prove the point, as well. But Scott, if you know the differene between right and wrong on drugs than you are sane on drugs. That's as simple as it gets. "at that moment did t...

Yes, I can. The guy obviously has problems with girls since he got accused of stalking two of them. May be gay...
