Re: Quotes and Thoughts for the Day!

Here are some good ones. "Moral indignation is jealousy with a halo." - H. G. Wells "Political correctness is tyranny with manners." - Charlton Heston "Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth." - Sherlock Holmes "When one person suffers from a...

Re: September 11, 2001

Now, about this Pastor who intends to burn the Qur'an on September 11th (tomorrow). All I can say is, what an idiot. The terrorist attacks were planned and carried out by extremists, and I'm sure many muslims are ashamed of what these extremists accomplished. To burn the Muslim holy book is an idiot...

Re: Ordained over the internet

Thanks for that.

Something that shocked me is that there are no restrictions, age-wise, that I can find. Apparentley, you can become an ordained minister at any age.

Ordained over the internet

Yesterday I was ordained as a legal minister for a church I've never heard of before, the Universal Life Church Monastery. It seems strange that it is so easy to become a reverend of a church, and to become a member of a clergy. By merely typing in your name and address you can become ordained. I'm ...

Re: September 11, 2001

There are just too many variables to draw one conclusion from this incident, especially a conclusion based on a few pictures taken as the WTC was hit. There are only a few people who can actually tell us what happened that day, and whether the plane was carrying explosives, WTC was blown from inside...

Re: Want To Introduce Myself

I like the sound of it, so I might read it myself. Free time's difficult to come by these days, sadly, so it may be a while before I actually get down to reading it.

Re: Want To Introduce Myself

Hi KRWoods Many people who joined here, no doubt, typed in something along the lines of "Genius Forum" on a search engine. If I'm wrong, destroy my arguement, as most of you lovely people like doing on here. I found it through a post Dan Rowden (one of the board admins) left on the Sam Harris forum...

Re: Want To Introduce Myself

Hello, I am in fact, male, and I know exactly what you mean. I have often been asked by a woman why men always seem so agressive towards each other, and I have always replied 'It's just what we do'. I believe it to be something that woman cannot understand fully, when bound by their own assumptions ...

Re: Are priests more likely to be child molester than ministers?

This is linking back to the Pre/Post puberty thought discussed earlier in this thread: Priests do not engage, normally, in sexual interaction ( or rather they're not meant to ). Perhaps what we are seeing is unexperienced men going for an easy target, who are also sexually ignorant. Also, priests ar...

Re: Want To Introduce Myself

Hello there, As I said, I discern the need for conflict and different opinions and conjectures in society, it is an constituent of how we live and how we interact with each other. I was merely stating that arrogance is, and will continue to be an underlying state of mind in this forum, and with the ...

Re: Want To Introduce Myself

This thread was started with arrogance, and responded to with even greater arrogance. Intelligence undoubtedly has a byproduct which is a superiority complex. A high score on an IQ test is no reason to condescend others who do not wear their score on the back of their shirts. A smart person knows t...
