hehehe You know even among Muslims, there's an admonishment not read the Quran too much, lest one get bored of it. The point is, if I listen to a song I love over and over until I hate it, it's not because the song stopped being great. It's because I exhausted the emotional response of that particul...

Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha
Almost none of you here seems to have any "contact experience" with enlightenment (there being a few controversial exceptions.) I know some of you can cough up some trite conceptual knowledge about "the myth of inherent existence", but how many of you know of any actual meditatio...

Emma: I believe you when you say you're enlightened, but you're speaking in a language that evokes hostility and resistance in the people here. I think your approach is off; you want a cooperative effort, but no one here is going to cooperate with someone that isn't speaking a language that resonate...

I don't think I agree that nature is a neutral balance between man and God. I think nature is God (by nature, I mean the inherent tendency in the universe to become manifest), and God is the universe. I'm inclined to agree that negative attributes are a product of man, but the negativity is born fro...

There seems to be some fundamental tension here between the way one is and the way one would like to be (or wouldn't like to be, in many cases) that's largely the cause of this. To put it in freudian trinary: you have the super-ego (the judgement of the percieved other), which makes the ego (the per...
