Re: God Does Not Exist - Question about that
you can only prove what it is . Only in an unconstrained, unlimited context. For example: "there are no birds in this box" is not a negative in the sense you are using it. It's the opposite of "there are one or more birds in the box". One can prove it's not raining outside by es...

Re: God Does Not Exist - Question about that
I don't understand why you're understanding my posts in a negative light. I state the truth as I see it. Also, I am a half-hearted spammer - I like leaving an opening for that sort of thing. I guess it's my ego's way of protecting itself... So it's a predisposition... I suppose if your answer is du...

Re: God Does Not Exist - Question about that
Ah yes, above we have a good example of oversimplification and its use/misuse... The fundamental principle that one cannot prove a negative has a solid foundation in philosophy and science. There is no misuse of its application in my argument. The way I understand David's argument with me, is that ...

Re: God Does Not Exist - Question about that
I don't wish to derail this topic. But, simply, "prove it cannot be" is a statement asking for proof of a negative ie "cannot be". There is nothing arbitrary about it. Given that it is just as easy to look at the same matter as a case of proving the existence of the mind's limit...

Alright, give us your proof that the observable universe cannot be a computer simulation. One cannot prove a negative... Unless you are omni-present. Good luck convincing someone you are! (heh!) Prove the tooth fairy doesn't exist.... One cant " not prove" anything... It's a logical trap ...

i say who knows if there is a billion other universes another trillion light years outside of where our best lenses can see. The OP referred to the universe we reside The Universe is defined as everything that physically exists: the entirety of space and time, all forms of matter, energy and moment...

Re: If the universe is finite, yet unbound it would seem that
You could have a finite space and yet have an infinite number of galaxies. This is because space is expanding. This causes the galaxies to move at speeds that equal the speed of light (at the desitter horizon). Since speed causes contraction these galaxies occupy no volume in space. Relative to the...

Re: If the universe is finite, yet unbound it would seem that
To add quickly, whatever the shape, closed, open, flat, all could be finite and yet unbound. The universe appears to be protected from some weird paradox's and conundrums. For instance, black hole horizons protect the universe from all kinds of weird atrocities of physical laws, "Cosmic censors...

Re: If the universe is finite, yet unbound it would seem that
the same thing would be true for time as well. If you think of the time-space continuum's borders as the inside of a balloon whose edges cannot be felt, and if it is likewise true that traveling in an imagined "straight line" outward would cause one to arrive again at the point where one ...

Re: Was Jesus Not Enlightened ?
Assuming honesty of testimony (again, sina qua non), anyone who knows and says with absolute certainly, "I and God are One" is enlightened. The rest is window dressing. So is it reasonable to say, either Jesus was NOT the/a Messiah or by collective reasoning mikiel is claiming he is the n...

Re: Cosmology and "Kosmos"
You are a complete idiot. The references to being misled by 'the devil' and killing myself over failed prophecy... or cosmology proven wrong... were obviously tongue in cheek... which went way over your flat little head. The designers of the Great Pyramid, its chronograph as the case in point, were...

Then there was the rest of the post... but... don't go to any trouble to look foolish here. Sometimes silence is the best strategy for saving face... if that's all you are about. It ...

Re: Cosmology and "Kosmos"
If it turns out to be false... I am a false visionary and the devil has misled me all my life, ever since I asked Dad at age five... "How big is God?" I think you must know this story by now. Then I will gladly find a peaceful way to admit my lifelong delusion and kill myself... in a very...
